A proud Carmen man that never forgot where his home was.
Sadness clouded An Charraig Mhór GFC again this morning with the untimely passing of Declan Quinn, one of the heroes of the 1970’s three in a row team, with a man of the match performance in 1978. A personal friend to many in the club past and present, always had time to have a chat and catch up on local news. His parents Mickey and Evelyn who owned Quinn’s Bar in the village was the place to be on many a Sunday night to reminisce about the match that day.
The highlight of their time in Quinn’s bar would have been the celebrations after that remarkable achievement of the three in a row.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Declan’s family and grandchildren who he was so devoted to, and to his brothers and sisters who will miss him dearly.
We also remember his wife Margaret at this time. Declan’s funeral will be on Friday morning at 11am in Ballygawley.
He will be sadly missed by everyone at An Charraig Mhor GFC.
