Congratulations to everyone who received the joint Gaeltacht bursaries from the Gaelic League, the hurling club (Eíre Óg) and our club (An Charraig Mhór Naomh Colmcille CLG). The bursaries were awarded this evening by Lawrence Kelly and Bríd Uí Dhonnghaile, Culture and Language officers for An Charraig Mhór and Eíre Og, respectively. Cormac Mac Giolla Uidhir represented the Carrickmore and Creggan Gaelic league.
This bursary aims to facilitate young people going to the Gaeltacht, especially now when so many schools aren’t teaching Irish. It also helps to finance the running of the Irish colleges in Donegal.
In the picture are some bursary recipients with their parents, clubs, and Gaelic league representatives. Congratulations to Aoibhe Kerr, Connie Coyle, Balithin Murray, Oisin Conlon, Eoin Conlon, Aoibhean Haughey and Ellie Gormley.
