An Charraig Mhór Naomh Colmcille CLG are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic passing of John Rafferty RIP. Our thoughts and prayers are with John’s family… his Father Felix, Mother Roisin, sister Clare and brother Michael. Also in our thoughts are his extended family circle and friends in both Derry and Carrickmore.
John was a committed, tenacious and talented Gaelic footballer. His loss is felt by his beloved Killyclogher, Tyrone and the wider GAA community.
John’s dad Felix is a Carrickmore native and represented our club at underage. His mum, Roisin, has taught in Dean Maguirc College for close on 30 years and has become part of our school and parish Community, a teacher respected by all who have crossed her path.
John is a past pupil of Dean Maguirc College and played with distinction at all levels during his 7 years at the school. His younger brother Michael is currently in Year 14 at the Dean. Through school football the boys have built up close bonds with many players from neighbouring clubs including many of our current senior panel. John’s loss will be sorely felt by all who knew him and were impacted upon by his pleasant manner and always smiling face.
We offer the Rafferty family our love and support at this time.
May his soul rest in peace.
