It’s with great sadness that the club has learned of the passing of former club president, officer and current committee member Frank McElroy. We wish to give our heartfelt condolences to the McElroy family. Suaimhneas síoraí air.
Gaelic for Mothers and Others , Ceili dancing and Irish classes have been cancelled this week. The club shop is also closed. Pairc Colmcille and the Father Magilligan pitches will be closed until after the funeral as a mark of respect.
Comhghairdeas to the Tyrone U20 team & management, including our club players Brian Conway, James Donaghy, Tiarnan McGarrity, Lorcan McGarrity and Seamus Sweeney, on their All-Ireland final victory over Kildare. Comhghairdeas fosta to Caira Munroe & Niamh McElduff on the Tyrone Ladies Ulster Intermediate Championship Final win over Down and to U12/P7 player Meg McCallan who took part in halftime games.
In the league, our U13 4B boys team beat Drumquin. The U13 1B team lost away to Trí Leac. Next up for the 1B team is Loch Mhic Ruairí at home this Thursday at 7:15pm.
Our Reserve team overcame An Caisleán Glas 2-13 to 0-7. The seniors will see action in the league for the first time this Friday at 7:45pm at home against An Drom Mór. With the reserves match at 6:30pm.
The Minor Ladies put in another solid performance to win away against Trí Leac. Round 8 of the league will see this team travel to an Mháigh on Tuesday 24th, for a 7:30pm throw-in.
Tír Eoghain U16 ladies are involved in the Ulster Platinum Final on Sunday, 22nd May. Ádh mór to Sorcha Gormley, Alannah Loughran and Lauren McMahon, who are part of that team.
Ádh mór to the Tyrone minor team, including Gerard Donnelly, Conor Gormley on the management team, and Pearse Byrne & Conn Sweeney, in Celtic Park this Saturday 21st, against Donegal. Throw-In is at 7pm.
Comghairdeas to the Tír Eoghain hurling team on their win over Donegal in the Nicky Rackard cup semi-final on Saturday past. Go raibh maith agaibh to all the volunteers who helped us to successfully host the match. Go raibh maith agat to Cara Rose Brogan for singing Amhrán na bhfiann. The hurlers travel to Croke Park to face Roscommon this Saturday 21st. Ádh Mór to the entire team.
The Youth Presentation has been postponed until the summer time.
Walk &Talk at Pairc Colmcille for ladies to call into clubrooms for tea and a chat. This social initiative by our health and well-being committee is on Monday mornings, with facilities open from 9am to 11am.
A number of club members completed their Safeguarding 1 training on Monday evening 16 May at the Clubrooms. Buíochas le Tyrone County Board Safeguarding Officer Stephen Sherry for his assistance in this matter.
